Arsenal cruised to a 3-0 win at home to Nottingham Forest on their return from the international break, getting back to winning ways in convincing fashion.
After several months marred by inconsistent squads and line-ups, Mikel Arteta had an almost fully fit team available to him yet chose to rotate in the likes of Jorginho and Gabriel Jesus.
With two fixtures a week up until the New Year, it’s going to be vital for Arteta to make full use of this squad to keep players fresh.
And his selection on Saturday paid off nicely, giving key players like Declan Rice and Kai Havertz a full rest.
The Gunners enjoyed the benefit of their weekend rotation in the Champions League on against Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday, fielding a full-strength side for a 5-1 win.
Against Forest, Bukayo Saka opened the scoring with an excellent goal, combining with Martin Odegaard before rifling in a powerful strike.
Saka is always heavily involved with the goals for Arsenal, but his ability to contribute to go-ahead and equalising goals when the scores are close is invaluable time and time again.
Thomas Partey added a fine second and Ethan Nwaneri came off the bench for the final 10 minutes of the game and grabbed his first Premier League goal, finishing from a Raheem Sterling cutback.
Nwaneri has had to be patient early in his career, often coming off the bench at the end of games, but his quality has continued to shine through and his first league goal should fill him with confidence.
It's a great platform to build on as Arsenal look to put a run of wins together.
Manchester City dropped more points, losing 4-0 to Tottenham at the weekend, but Liverpool continued their hot start to the season with a win over Southampton to keep their lead at the top.
Gabriel Martinelli, Havertz, Gabriel, Saka and Leandro Trossard all hit the net in Portugal in midweek and the Gunners head to West Ham on Saturday (5.30pm) as they look to build momentum in the Premier League.
The Hammers have had an underwhelming start to the season after a busy summer window but will be boosted by an impressive 2-0 win at Newcastle United.
Last season, Arsenal won this fixture 6-0 but they may been in for more of a test this time around.
