The headteacher of Bishop Douglass Catholic School in Barnet has said he is “delighted,” by the progress being made in converting the school into an academy.
Martin Tissot, who is himself relatively new to the school, this year oversaw the school’s best ever set of exam results.
Bishop Douglass will now join St George’s school in Maida Vale and St Thomas More school in Wood Green in a triumvirate of Catholic schools.
“Bishop Douglass has improved rapidly in the last two years,” said Michael Veal, Chair of Governors at the school.
“The School is ready to take its place as an equal partner in one of the most successful Catholic Academy chains in the country,” he added.
