An employee at a green grocers in Camden Town was stabbed in the face with pliers after an altercation broke out inside the shop.

The attack happened on October 29 inside Parkway Greens, Parkway, at around 7pm.

The victim, in his 20s, who works at the store, was taken to the Royal Free hospital and required three stitches are being struck on the head.

David Josephs, who owns the greengrocers, told the Ham&High an account he had been given by his manager who was on duty at the time of the incident.

“Two drunk gentleman entered the shop looking to buy some vodka. They were informed by my manager that we didn’t sell alcohol. My manager was then threatened over the counter and the two men were forced out of the shop, knocking over baskets as they left.

“They returned 10 minutes later, armed with what looked like screwdrivers. They threatened the cashier whilst staff and customers inside the shop tried to leave. During the scuffle, one employee was struck on the head with pliers whilst another two sustained scratches to their hands and arms.”

Police arrived within thee minutes of first being called.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of GBH but have been released under investigation.

All three employees who were injured are back at work.
