Global music star Charli xcx will curate her own one-day festival in Victoria Park next summer.

The avant-pop and electronic superstar tops the bill at 'party girl' on Saturday 14th June alongside a personally chosen line-up including The Japanese House and The Dare -collaborators on her blockbuster 2024 album Brat.

She will be joined in the East London park by 070 Shake, Kelly Lee Owens and A. G. Cook - with many more to be announced.

Charli xcx is the second headliner slated to appear at the new LIDO Festival following the news that Jamie xx will perform on Saturday 7 June.

It runs over two weekends in the Tower Hamlets park's Lido Field, with curated musical line-ups by the most current stars, and community driven activities during the week.

Charli xcx has become an iconic figure after helping to expand the landscape of popular music over the last decade with her innovative style and forward thinking spirit.

The 32-year-old started out posting songs on Myspace before becoming an underground performer on the early noughties rave scene. It led to her featuring on No1 records in the UK and US, and writing songs for Blondie, Selena Gomez and Rita Ora among others.

After a spell experimenting with her sound and image, she returned to mainstream pop with her 2022 album Crash and contributed the song Speed Drive to the Barbie soundtrack.

This year, Brat was released to huge critical acclaim and worldwide fame, landing at Number 1 on the UK Official Album Chart in October.

The album made its mark on the cultural zeitgeist - the audacious campaign has seen Charli cause roadblocks with her pop-up ‘PARTY GIRL’ DJ sets, break the internet with viral videos, and surprise collaborations with the likes of Billie Eilish, Lorde, Addison Rae, Robyn, Yung Lean, Julia Fox, Chloë Sevigny, and Rachel Sennott.

This week the singer songwriter plays a sold-out headline show at London’s O2 arena, and now take the next step at the inaugural LIDO Festival in 2025 - her first UK festival as headliner.

Tickets for Charli xcx party girl go on general sale on Friday 29 November at www.charlixcx.com or www.lidofestival.co.uk
