A care agency where people's relatives receive an "exceptional standard of care and support" has been rated outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.
Right at Home Camden, Hampstead and Golders Green was rated given the health and care watchdog's top rating for its care and leadership following its first inspection in August and September.
The agency, run by Young Hearts Homecare, provided care and support to 18 adults living in their own homes at the time it was inspected.
CQC inspectors gave it the second-highest 'good' rating for its safety, effectiveness, and responsiveness.
They praised the agency for providing “exceptional care and support” and going “above and beyond” its clients’ expectations.
The report said the service took care to match people with staff they liked and who complimented their interests and preferences, and that families had developed trusting relationships with staff and managers.
The regulator highlighted several instances where staff made “extra efforts” to support people to enjoy activities, regain their independence following a hospital stay, access local communities and maintain valued relationships.
Owner Darshan Vora, who launched the service in July 2021, said: “This achievement is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and passion of our amazing care givers and our incredible office team.
“Thank you all for your unwavering support and commitment. Words can’t fully express the pride and gratitude I feel right now. It’s an ecstatic moment for all of us.”
Victoria Oecken, CQC deputy director of operations in London, said: “Staff understood people’s needs and preferences and went out of their way to support them.
"For example, when someone was admitted to hospital, their care worker visited them daily and brought them freshly made food. Another care worker gave someone additional time, support and companionship to ensure they were comfortable as they approached the end of their life.
“People were consistently supported by experienced staff who were caring and treated them with compassion and respect.
“Both leaders and staff should be deeply proud of the service they’ve created for people."
