An artist who spent his formative years at a youth club will help it mark its 90th anniversary with a 22m mural spanning a railway bridge.
Marylebone-based Feathers Association, a charity that supports and provides opportunities for young people, worked with Chiltern Railways to commission the Rossmore Road Bridge mural from Create Not Destroy and artist, designer and DJ Bunny Bread.
The mural will be seen by tens of thousands of commuters passing through Marylebone each day.
Bunny Bread, who attended the club in the 1970s and 1980s, said the mural will reflect his belief in the value of such clubs.
He said: “It feels deeply personal.
“Youth and clubs like Feathers have always played a vital role in our community, and I hope this project helps bring people closer together and instil pride in the area.”
David Jones, CEO of Feathers Association, said: “Bunny Bread’s instillation will serve as a powerful tribute to the impact we’ve had on generations of local youth, and we hope it inspires pride and connection within the community.”
The artwork will be unveiled on October 30 at 10am.
