St Peter's and St Gildas' is a small faith-based primary school located in a residential area of Crouch End in north London.

We welcome families of all faiths and none, believing that every family contributes to our richness and diversity. As a close-knit community, the school's unique context shapes its mission and approach to education.

At the heart of St Peter's and St Gildas' is a deep commitment to providing a nurturing, safe environment that positively impacts the emotional wellbeing and academic success of every child.

We believe that smaller schools foster a greater sense of connection, community and partnership between pupils, parents and staff.

This was recognised in a recent Ofsted inspection, as children told inspectors that they were ‘a family of brothers and sisters’ and parents readily engaged to talk about how much they appreciate and value all that a smaller school like ours has to offer.

Our small class sizes and emphasis on communication and play between different age groups provide ample opportunities for pupils to develop essential social skills and build self-confidence.

St Peter's and St Gildas' places great importance on fostering strong partnerships between parents, staff and the local community. This collaborative approach enhances parental involvement and strengthens the school's role as a community-focused hub.  We have a dedicated parent body, who play in key role in shaping school culture.

Underpinning all that we do is a commitment to providing a supportive environment that caters to the whole child. We believe that emotional wellbeing is crucial for academic success, and we work tirelessly to ensure that each pupil feels safe, valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

Our educational approach is designed to build independent learners from the start, drawing on the principles of high-quality teaching and a bespoke curriculum.

This approach, combined with the advantages of our small school setting, allows us to tailor our curriculum and teaching methods to the unique needs and interests of each child. Pupils benefit from enhanced opportunities, such as more cultural visits and a wider range of enrichment activities, which contribute to each child’s overall personal development.

At St Peter's and St Gildas', our ethos and values are not just words on a page, but a lived reality that permeates every aspect of school life.

From the warm welcome extended to new families, to the leadership opportunities afforded to our older pupils, to the strong bonds forged between staff and students, our commitment to our core values is evident in the joyful, supportive atmosphere that characterises our school community and ensures that each pupil leaves us as a confident, compassionate, and independent learner, ready to make a positive impact on the world.
