A Premier-Inn style hotel with 74 rooms could be built in disused offices.

Under plans submitted to Camden Council, disused office spaces at nos. 293-299 and 301-305 would be converted into rooms.

Retail units on the ground floors of the buildings – which include a McDonald’s – would be retained.

Latitude Architects have been drafted in to design the new hotel by the buildings’ freeholder, after an unsuccessful marketing campaign to use them again as offices.

The hotel is planned to contain micro-hotel style rooms, similar to the Premier Inn Hub concept.

These rooms are designed to be half the size of a typical Premier Inn bedroom, while retaining all of the same amenities.

The main entrance to the hotel would be from Holmes Road into a reception lobby, where the existing lift would take guests to the first floor level.

Architects anticipate no external changes would be necessary to the existing buildings, beyond installing new rooflights.

Full details about the application (2024/4116/P) can be found on Camden Council’s planning portal. Comments on the plans can be made until October 26.
