A police officer who sexually touched a colleague on a night out has been sacked.

PC Jason Brooking, who was attached to a Metropolitan Police unit covering Camden and Islington, was dismissed without notice by the force last Friday (September 27).

It comes after an investigation found that he had sexually touched a colleague on a night out on January 26, 2022.

His boss, Chief Superintendent Andy Carter, has described his actions as “unwanted, grossly invasive and entirely wrong”.

He added: “Either he failed to recognise the inappropriateness of his behaviour, or believed he could act with impunity.

“Either of those positions are extremely concerning and it’s therefore entirely appropriate he has been dismissed from the organisation.”

Police submitted a file to the Crown Prosecution Service after an investigation into the incident, but it was determined that there was no criminal case to answer.

But the Met’s directorate of professional standards subsequently determined the allegation proven.

The allegation of a similar incident on January 27 or 28 was found not proven.

PC Brooking will now be placed on the barred list held by the College of Policing.

Those appearing on the list cannot be employed by police, local policing bodies (PCCs), the Independent Office for Police Conduct or His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services.
