“Upgrades” are planned for poet John Keats’ historic home in Hampstead.

The planning application is one of several submitted to Camden Council between September 16 and September 22 in the Ham and High readership area.

The council is currently reviewing each application and has yet to make a decision on any of them.

The City Corporation has asked for permission to upgrade security at one of Hampstead’s most iconic houses (2024/3965/L).

Under plans submitted to the council, Keats House might soon see its fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV upgraded.

The Regency villa in Keats Grove is more than 200-year-old and is where John Keats lived when he wrote some of his best known works.

In Kentish Town, there are plans to demolish a warehouse next to a railway viaduct in Camden Mews (2024/3388/P).

There are also plans to refurbish the railway arches, which will continue to be used as storage for a builders’ merchant.

In Camden Town, one applicant has asked to build a two-storey rear extension to their house in Arlington Road (2024/4002/P).

A one-storey extension is also planned for a property in Eversholt Street (2024/4018/P).

A flat in Compayne Gardens, South Hampstead, could see its existing rear extension demolished and replaced, as well as an outbuilding constructed in its rear garden (2024/3939/P).

In West Hampstead, a rear extension is planned for a flat in Sherriff Road (2024/3851/P).
