A group of north London artists are celebrating 20 years together with a special exhibition in Crouch End.

EFOA at 20, Celebrating Twenty Years of the East Finchley Open Artists opens at the Original Gallery in Hornsey Library on 16th September.

The group started out in 2004 when a collection of artists opened their houses and studios to the public.

The group has since grown into a "vibrant collective" with a cap of 60 members including artists and craftspeople working in photography, film, digital art, sculpture, textiles, printmaking, jewellery, glass and painting.

Over the years they have exhibited at various venues from The Phoenix Cinema to Highgate Gallery and Burgh House as well as collaborating on community projects with the likes of Archer Academy.

They continue to hold an annual Open House weekend where members throw open the doors of their houses and offer the public the chance to meet artists and craftspeople and buy directly from them.

In a statement on the show, the group said: "This special exhibition marks two decades of artistic collaboration and community engagement.

"The group continues to enrich the cultural life of East Finchley through exhibitions, workshops, and public events."

EFOA at 20 will showcase an impressive range of works, including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, glasswork, jewellery, and textiles.

Art will be available to buy, with a percentage of the proceeds going to support the group's future community initiatives.

"The EFOA invites the public to join the celebration, and experience the incredible talent and creativity that continues to champion East Finchley’s thriving art scene," they added.

EFOA at 20 is open daily from 1pm to 5pm (1pm to 4pm on Sundays), from 16th to 28th September at The Original Gallery in Haringey Park, N8.
