Hampstead Heath became a film set for the afternoon as actors, a film crew and an array of tents popped up to shoot the latest Bridget Jones film.

Star Renée Zellweger was instantly recognisable as scenes for Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy took shape on a sweltering summer's day at the top of Parliament Hill today (August 1).

Dressed in a cardigan, denim mini skirt and black leggings, she stood out against everyone else soaking up the 28C heat in T-shirts, shorts and summer dresses.

The fourth and final film, based on the book by Helen Fielding, follows Bridget after the death of her great flame Mark Darcy.

Zellweger could be seen with the two young actors, who play the children Bridget had with Darcy, played in earlier films by Colin Firth.

All three were seen letting go of balloons, which were attached by wires to a crane.

As filming took place, the top of the Heath was a hive of activity with tents and crew members.

Film crews could be heard directing the stars while others told spectators to put away their phones.

A sign warned anyone remaining that by doing so, they consented to appear in shot without being paid.

Filming around Hampstead began in May, with Zellweger and film crews spotted around Haverstock Hill and Hampstead Heath.

One scene was shot at Sayeh & Galton Flowers, in Flask Walk, Hampstead, in July.

This scene took place at Christmas, which may be the reason for Bridget's wintry attire in today's shooting.

There were also reports that some Hampstead's celebrities had had their noses put out of joint by letters from the production company asking them not to disturb filming.

The third and final instalment tells the story of Bridget Jones in her 50s.

She is once again single, and now a middle-aged mother, when her eye is caught by Rockstar, played by 27-year-old Leo Woodall.

But while Darcy is gone, Bridget's one-time love interest Daniel Cleaver, played by Hugh Grant, is still around.

The film also stars actor Leila Farzad in a role that the Daily Mail says is yet to be revealed.

Bridget’s last outing is set to be released on February 14, 2025.
