Hampstead celebrities are reportedly furious after they were told to stay in their homes during the filming of a new Bridget Jones film.
According to The Sun, stars including Harry Styles and Rami Malek were left disgruntled after their affluent streets were turned into a film set.
Their irritation reportedly grew after receiving letters from those organising shooting instructing them to alter their regular schedules so as not to hinder the production.
The Sun's source said: "The film is causing chaos in this part of north London where they are shooting a lot of the film.
"Neighbourhoods with stars such as Harry, Rami, Ricky Gervais and Rowan Atkinson living there are all getting letters from the production about not interrupting shots.
"It’s gone down like a lead balloon with some of them, and of course some of the normal people who live and work there.
"The letters have informed them about when filming is taking place and they have been asked to either leave their homes during this time or not to come and go at certain times.
"It’s like they’re being held hostage by Bridget — and it’s driving everyone mad."
The new film, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, sees Renée Zellweger return to her most famous role.
This time around, Bridget, now a middle-aged single mum, navigates the world of dating apps after the death of her husband, Mark Darcy.
Bridget soon embarks on a passionate romance with a significantly younger man, played by The White Lotus star Leo Woodall.
Hugh Grant will also be reprising his role as Daniel Cleaver.
Film crews for the next Bridget Jones instalment have recently been spotted around Haverstock Hill, Hampstead Heath, and even close to author Helen Fielding's Hampstead home.
Bridget’s last outing is set to be released on February 14 next year – perfect timing for Valentine's Day.
