A video was posted on X on June 19, showing a man brandishing something in his hand.
The Met received a lot of praise on the social media site by people commending their speed at apprehending the man.
A Met Spokesperson said: "We are aware of a video circulating that states the wrong date and that the man was wielding a machete, this is inaccurate."
