A new 24-hour gym could be opening and preparations are under way for a new Five Guys branch.

The proposals are among the 63 planning applications submitted to Camden Council between June 3 and June 9.

The council is currently reviewing each application and has yet to make a decision on any of them.

We have summed up the most significant applications in the Ham & High readership area below:

  • Plans were put forward to convert two flats – one with three bedrooms and the other with one bedroom – in Howitt Road, Belsize Park, into a single house . (2024/2154/P).
  • Two other flats in Chesterford Gardens, Frognal – one with three bedrooms and one with two bedrooms – could also be converted into a single house. (2024/2013/P).
  • ZSL London Zoo at Regent’s Park has proposed to prune and reduce the size of seven trees at its car parks. These include a common ash. (2024/2283/T)
  • The Gym Group is looking to take over a commercial unit at 117 Finchley Road, and to amend its operation hours so that it can be open for 24 hours a day. The unit is currently permitted to be used between 8am and 11.30pm. (2024/1715/P.
  • Five Guys is preparing to open its West Hampstead branch in August, with plans submitted for two new internally illuminated signs. (2024/2319/A). A separate application proposes shopfront alterations including a canopy above an approved window hatch. (2024/1979/P).
