A van burst into flames sending plumes of thick smoke into oncoming traffic.
Firefighters were called to Finchley Road at 4.15pm earlier today (June 6) after receiving 50 emergency calls about a van on fire.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson added: “Firefighters have attended and extinguished the fire.
"There have been no reports of any injuries."
The A41 arterial road was seeing major delays from Swiss Cottage tube station up to Finchley Road tube station.

"Finchley Road station looking crazy," he wrote.
@Dai_Villalobos_asked the photographer: "Why take a photo at this stage it’s close to blowing up?"
LFB spokesperson added: “Drivers are advised to avoid the area as the incident is causing significant traffic disruption."
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
