A woman who stalked Harry Styles by sending him 8,000 cards in less than a month has been jailed.
Myra Carvalho, 35, of Londridge Road, Kensington, sent the singer handwritten letters as well as ordering a series of cards for him online to his address – two of which were hand delivered.
Appearing at Harrow Crown Court, she was sentenced to 14 weeks’ in prison after pleading guilty on Tuesday (April 16) to a charge of stalking involving serious alarm or distress, a court official said.
She was slapped with a restraining order lasting for 10 years and she cannot attend any event where the As it was singer performs.
Carvalho, who had been staying at a backpacker hostel in Kensington and Chelsea, south west London, was also ordered not to contact Harry Styles, who owns a property in Hampstead, directly or indirectly.
She has been told not to enter an area of north west London which was described in the court, the official added.
She was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £134.
Carvalho is a Brazilian national who has been in the UK since December and her family did not know she had travelled to the country, the court was told previously.
