A versatile new events space was unveiled at JW3 this week.
Members of the Dorfman family gathered at the Jewish community centre in Finchley Road to cut the ribbon on the Dorfman Plaza.
The outdoor piazza has previously been used as an ice rink in winter and a beach in the summer.
Now with a state-of-the-art retractable roof, it can be open, partially, or fully closed in minutes - with LED lighting on the sides of the structure, and heaters for guests in any weather.
It is also able to be open plan or divided into three spaces - offering a versatile facility for art exhibitions, receptions, launches, fairs, pop-ups, and other events.
JW3 CEO Raymond Simonson JW3, was joined by Dame Vivien Duffield DBE and entrepreneur, philanthropist and founder of the Travelex business Sir Lloyd Dorfman CBE and his family for the grand opening on Monday evening.
Mr Simonson said: "Ever since Biblical times, hospitality has been a key value to the Jewish community. From Abraham and Sarah’s tent, which was open on all four sides to inviting a stranger to your Pesach (Passover) Seder.
"The Dorfman Piazza allows us at JW3 to become even more hospitable. From cultural events to parties and our winter ice rink to our summer beach. The Dorfman Piazza shows the growth of JW3 as we enter our next decade as the home of Jewish culture and conversation."
