A man has been charged on suspicion of murder after an elderly woman was found dead in a home.
Steven Clark, 50, of Bravington Road in Queen's Park, appeared in custody at Westminster Magistrates' Court last Friday (March 22).
This came after police were called at around 4.15am on Wednesday (March 20) to an address on Fourth Avenue in Queen's Park.
A woman, now known to be Ursula Uhlemann, 80, had been pronounced dead by the London Ambulance Service at that address before police arrived.
Clark was subsequently arrested and charged on suspicion of murder. He is next due to appear at the Central Criminal Court today (March 26).
The pair were known to each other, police believe, and a post-mortem examination gave the provisional cause of death as compression to the neck.
Ursula's family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers, police said.
Anyone who has information that could help police with their enquiries should call 101 or post @MetCC ref CAD 749/20 Mar.
