The Proms at St Jude's launched their summer programme at Henrietta Barnett School on Sunday with a tantalising taste of what's to come.
Supporters and patrons heard Royal Academy of Music graduates - guitarist Gus McQuade, and singer and double bass player Eleanor Grant - perform a programme from Benjamin Britten to Joni Mitchell.
This year's community arts festival of top class concerts, comedy, walks, book talks, family and school events runs from June 22-to 30.
There's an early treat on June 7 when conductor and Royal Opera House director Sir Antonio Pappano comes to the suburb to discuss his memoir My Life in Music.
Fantasia Orchestra, the talented Kanneh-Mason siblings, Liza Pullman, Robert Max, Gareth Malone, and Rainer Hersch are among the names appearing in St Jude's church, Hampstead Garden Suburb.
And a two day lit fest at Henrietta Barnett School includes Robert Hardman, Sathnam Sanghera, and David Kynaston.
Proms founder Susie Gregson said: “It was the biggest turnout for a Season Launch that I can remember for a very long time and what a treat it was! I think everyone in the audience was wowed by Gus and Eleanor and I am sure they are destined for great things. We can’t wait for our special event with Sir Antonio Pappano on 7 June and then the main festival at the end of June.”’
Priority booking is now open with tickets on sale to the public on April 15.
