A new developer has pledged to finish building at a regeneration site where work has stalled since 2021.
Regal London has agreed to buy 100 Avenue Road, above Swiss Cottage tube station, from Essential Living.
Essential Living was granted planning permission to build a 24-storey tower block with 184 homes at the former office block site at the junction of Avenue Road and Finchley Road in February 2016.
It completed the basement but paused work in December 2021 and applied to reduce the amount of affordable housing. After Camden Council rejected this it appealed, claiming the scheme was "not viable" but lost at a public inquiry in November 2021.
Regal London is currently working with the council on plans for 100 Chalk Farm Road.
Investment director Marc Eden said the firm is "committed” to bringing its local knowledge and passion to bear on delivering the scheme.
He said: "Our reputation is built on delivery, which is particularly important for projects such as this one that have been stalled for a significant period.”
Essential Living co-CEO Robbie Myerson said: “We are pleased to conclude the sale to Regal London and finally see this site delivered.”
Regal London says it will seek amendments to the existing permission and the tower will include a second staircase in line with new fire safety requirements.
