Ministry of Sound Classical and Soul II Soul will headline Ally Pally's one-day festival Kaleidoscope.
Returning to the Muswell Hill landmark on July 13 for the fifth year, the family friendly event will feature the usual mix of live music, DJs, and comedy - with Huey Morgan of Fun Lovin Criminals, indie band The Go! Team, and hip-hop artist Antony Szmierek also set to perform.
Last year's event was called off at the eleventh hour due to high winds, so organisers will be hoping for kinder weather so that the 30 piece London Concert Orchestra can take to the Hilltop Stage and reimagine huge dance floor hits including The Chemical Brothers’ Hey Boy Hey Girl, Faithless’ Insomnia, Fatboy Slim’s Right Here, Right Now.
Accompanied by a dazzling laser show, it will provide a euphoric climax to a day that kicks off at 1pm and also features double Grammy Award-winning legends SOUL II SOUL who will play their classics not far from their original Camden Town stomping ground.
The Cloud 10 DJ stage will feature sets by Mr. Scruff, Erol Alkan, electronic duo X-Press 2, and garage legends Artful Dodger, while comedy fans can enjoy belly laughs with Simon Amstell, Sophie Duker, Amir Shah, Chloe Petts and an irreverent in conversation with actor and raconteur Brian Blessed.
Also on the bill for the Fringe Stage is the world's most blasphemous band Oh My God! It's The Church, and crowd participation favourite Hip Hop Karaoke.
There's also a dedicated family area which is a mini festival in itself with arts, circus and theatre, as well as the Bandstand Stage, featuring eclectic live music.
Kaleidoscope director Simon Fell said: “It’s brilliant to be back with Kaleidoscope, the centrepiece of summer at Ally Pally. We’ve got a line-up just perfect for a London summertime and with our stages set against panoramic views across the whole city, plus the chance to explore the Palace too, we are serving up a festival location like no other. Join us to laugh, sing and dance – we can’t wait to welcome you up here."
