A man has died after a fire destroyed a ground floor flat near Hampstead Heath.
Fire crews were called at 11.33am on Monday to a blaze at a house converted into flats in Parliament Hill.
A ground floor flat was destroyed by the fire.
A 67-year-old man, who was rescued from the building before the London Fire Brigade arrived, died in hospital on Tuesday (January 16), Scotland Yard has said.
Police were called at approximately 11.45am along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.
Four people were taken to hospital for treatment.
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters from West Hampstead, Kentish Town, Soho and surrounding stations were sent and the blaze was under control by 12.56pm.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "The cause of the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
"A file is being prepared for the coroner."
London Fire Brigade said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
