Yotam Ottolenghi’s latest neighbourhood deli and restaurant has now opened in Hampstead.
It takes over the former site of vegan restaurant Kojo on Rosslyn Hill, which closed suddenly in June 2022, and before that it was a branch of Italian cafe and deli Carluccios.
Ottolenghi is open seven days a week for all day dining, starting with coffee, pastries and hot breakfasts in the morning and running through to a la carte dinner with cocktails.
Opened in December, it is the group's eighth deli and restaurant in the capital, alongside NOPI and ROVI, with other sites including Islington, Notting Hill and Marylebone.
The menu is inspired by the Israeli cook's influences of growing up with parents of Italian and German heritage, among both Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines.
Breakfasts include buttermilk pancakes, shakshuka with braised eggs, and fried turmeric eggs with labneh and tomatoes.
Lunch features Ottolenghi's signature salads alongside options such as paneer stuffed aubergines with coconut dhal and curry oil, roasted trout with pickled kumquat and tomato salsa, and lamb shawarma kofta with bulgur and caramelised pomegranate onions.
Meanwhile dinner dishes include masala-crusted seabass with bkeila and fennel, baharat roast chicken with chilli shatta, labneh and radish and roasted lamb shoulder with clementine glaze, Aleppo chilli and radish salad.
The Hampstead restaurant also has a 26-cover pavement terrace, and serves delicious cakes and pastries to take away.
