The Lidl store in Kentish Town is set to close in just over a month’s time.
The budget supermarket has confirmed to Ham and High that it will shut the store in Kentish Town Road on February 11.
A Lidl spokesperson said the supermarket had to close after a decade on the high street as it was “unfortunately no longer fit for purpose”.
They added that despite the closure, there are plans to acquire an alternative site in the area so that the store can reopen.
It comes less than two years after the supermarket shut its store in Camden High Street.
The nearest stores to Kentish Town will now be in Holloway Road and Tottenham Court Road.
Lidl opened its first store in Germany in 1973 and came to Britain in 1994.
It currently has almost 1,000 supermarkets across the country, employing more than 31,000 people.
