An upmarket boutique hotel in a historic former town hall wants permission to serve alcohol and show films late at night.

Green Boutique Hotel, which runs Dao by Dorsett at Hornsey Town Hall, has applied to Haringey Council for a premises licence.

The Ham & High reported in February that the modernist 1930s building, in The Broadway,  would become a boutique hotel and arts centre after being sold to developer the Far East Consortium.

The £200-a-night 'aparthotel', which was due to open in the summer, will have 68 studio and one-bed apartments with some, such as the former Borough Treasurer's room, boasting original timber panelling and ironmongery.

The outlet in the Broadway hopes to show films daily from 11am to 11.30pm from Mondays to Wednesdays, until 12am on Thursdays and 1.30am on Fridays and Saturdays, and ending at 10.45pm on Sundays.

The firm also wants to serve late night refreshments - this means after 11pm - until 11.30pm from Monday to Wednesday; until 12am on Thursdays and until 1.30am on Fridays and Saturdays.

It has also applied to sell alcohol on and off the premises from 11am until 11.30pm Monday to Wednesday; until 12am on Thursdays; until 1.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays and until 10.45pm on Sundays. 

The opening times for members of the public would be from 7am until 12am from Mondays to Wednesdays; until 12.30am on Thursdays; until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays; and from 8am until 11.15pm on Sundays.

Hotel guests and their "bone fide" friends and guests would also be able to buy alcohol and watch films 24 hours a day.

The company is applying for additional "non-standard" timings on New Year's Eve and Bank Holidays.
