A restaurant has been hailed 'Best Newcomer in London 2023' at the Asian Curry Awards.
Namaaste Highgate in South Grove was founded by chef Sabbir Karim, who also owns the popular Namaaste Camden, and Salaam Namaaste in Bloomsbury.
More than 200 UK restaurants and take-aways across categories covering Asian and Oriental cuisines were whittled down by a public vote to the top 100, then assessed by a panel of judges.
Sabbir attended the awards ceremony - dubbed the 'curry Oscars' - at the Grosvenor House Hotel Park Lane last night (November 19) to collect their gong.
Serving an innovative blend of authentic Indian home cooking and Indian street food, the upscale restaurant has weathered the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic to emerge victorious.
Sabbir is already an award winner and was recently honoured with a Special Recognition Award for Outstanding Contribution to Charity and Catering Industry at the Asian & Curry Awards 2022.
"Namaaste Highgate's success at the Asian Curry Awards is a testament to the dedication of our team and the support of our cherished patrons," he said.
"We remain committed to providing an exceptional dining experience and are deeply honoured by the recognition we've received."
