A pub where the toilets are in "excellent condition at all times" has won one of the trade's top prizes.
The Mossy Well, in Muswell Hill Broadway, was awarded a platinum plus rating in the JD Wetherspoon chain's Loo of the Year Awards 2023.
As part of the judging process, inspectors made unannounced visits to thousands of toilets at watering holes up and down the UK.
Criteria they were assessed on included décor and maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, hand washing and drying equipment and overall management.
Finally, facilities were graded silver, gold, platinum, platinum plus or diamond, with unacceptable toilets not graded at all.
Tapash Basnett, manager of the Mossy Well, said: "We are delighted with the award. Staff at the pub ensure the toilets are in excellent condition at all times and it is great that this has been recognised by the inspectors."
The awards are aimed at highlighting and improving standards of "away from home" toilet provision across the UK.
Loo of the Year Awards managing director Becky Wall said: "The toilets at The Mossy Well have been designed and fitted out to a very high standard and are both clean and well maintained.
"The pub deserves its platinum plus award."
