The opening date of a brand new Wetherspoon pub at the site of a former lap-dancing club has been revealed.
It has been confirmed that customers will be able to grab a pint at The Captain Flinders near Euston Station from January 9.
The pub has been created at the former SophistiCats premises on the corner of Eversholt Street and Doric Way.
According to a spokesperson for the chain, 60 new jobs will be created at the watering hole.
The pub will be called The Captain Flinders after the explorer credited with naming Australia, whose remains were rediscovered during excavations for the HS2 railway nearby.
Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “We believe the pub will be a welcome addition to the area and appeal to a cross section of people, both travellers using Euston and local people.”
The pub will close at midnight on Mondays to Thursdays, and until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.
It will be open at 7.30am on Sundays, shutting at 11.30pm.
Customers will be able to buy alcohol from 8am, until 11.30pm on Mondays to Thursdays and until 12.30am on Fridays and Saturdays and until 10.30pm on Sundays.
