A award-winning Indian restaurant has claimed another title after being named the best Asian restaurant in north London.
The Rajdoot, in Fleet Road, has made a name for itself in Hampstead after being crowned the best Indian restaurant in west London in the Euro Asia Curry Awards in 2019 and 2021.
Founded in 2018 by four brothers inspired by their uncle's success in Paddington Street, it had won the north London regional restaurant of the year in 2019 in the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA).
Owner Mohammad Rahman then won best chef for north London in the 2022 Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards.
At an ARTA 2023 ceremony last Sunday (October 8), the Rajdoot was again handed the award for best regional restaurant in north London.
The awards are described as “the most prestigious celebration of Pan Asian cuisine in the UK”, honouring Asian restaurants all over the UK.
The ceremony was hosted by TV presenters Samantha Simmonds and Paul Martin.
ARTA founder Mohammed Munim said at the awards: "The UK’s popular Asian restaurant industry, synonymous with taking operational and business challenges such as staff shortages and the Covid pandemic head on, now faces a new set of challenges - the current cost of living crisis.
“The cost of supplies, ingredients, and energy have risen significantly while customers are also facing tightened household budgets.
“In this tough situation, ARTA once again honours the UK’s best Asian restaurants and takeaways who continue to deliver the best in the restaurant and home dining in these tough circumstances.”
