A new Gail's bakery will take over a historic former bank.
The Grade II listed HSBC Golders Green branch in Finchley Road closed its doors on August 18, 2022, and has been vacant ever since.
AS Retail has announced that a 10-year lease has been secured for the new Gail’s, located on the corner of Finchley Road and Golders Green Road, opposite Golders Green station.
The building was designed in 1912 for the London, City and Midland Bank.
Gail’s opened its first store in Hampstead High Street in 2005 and has since expanded across the capital and the UK, and it opened its 100th store last year.
Andrew Shepherd, director at AS Retail, said: “We received a lot of interest in this fabulous building but GAIL’s are the perfect occupier to make use of this unique space.
“They were not phased by the listed nature of the building and we look forward to seeing how they transform the building over the coming weeks.”
