Recent rainy days haven’t been able to dampen spirits during a wonderful summer filled with great engagement, activity and community spirit!
Pride in London was an amazing day of pride, protest and joy. All summer long it has been fantastic to take part in local community festivals, celebrations and street parties.
Collaborating and joint working with charities, community groups and residents across Camden and Islington is so important to forum+. We love meeting our neighbours and there are so many highlights and positive stories for reflection and inspiration.
Though there have been many rainy days, thankfully the sun has shone through too!
It’s made the rainbow shimmer and we’ve had lots of fun at our outdoor social clubs, whether kayaking on the Regent’s Canal or joining together in one of the beautiful local green spaces and parks. Our outdoor and adventure activities continue all year round and upcoming highlights include the forum+ BBQ, kayaking at The Pirate Castle in Camden, a visit to Kentish Town City Farm and many more opportunities to get outdoors with forum+!
Our volunteer team have been busy as always, supporting our social support groups, organising online events, kitchen support at our fun cookery event Cooking With Pride, survey work and much more!
There is always something engaging and interesting happening at forum+ and if you’d like to support our work please email: volunteer@forumplus.org.uk and visit: forumplus.org.uk/volunteering/meet-our-volunteers/ to meet some of our wonderful volunteer team and to find out more about the forum+ volunteer experience.
Summer certainly isn’t over yet and for the remaining weeks of August there are so many wonderful opportunities to connect with the LGBTQ+ Community in Camden and Islington! There are book clubs, exhibitions, literary events, plays, dance performances and more to enjoy!
Whatever the weather forum+ is proud to celebrate and support our local LGBTQ+ community and if you would like to join with us please email: info@forumplus.org.uk
