Highgate wine shop and deli Bottles 'N' Jars is inviting customers to sit down for a tipple and a snack.
From July 20, the independent store will extend its opening hours to 8pm Thursday to Saturday and open as a wine bar.
Customers can buy one of the wide range of specialist bottles in the shop and order cheese, olives, charcuterie and bread from the deli section said manager Matthew Clarke.
"We have a wonderful outside area and a covered courtyard we can use if we need more space," he said.
"People can sit and enjoy a bottle or a glass of wine and what we call a DIY menu of items in the shop - we have a great selection of nibbles; crisps, pates, amazing olives, bread and crackers. We hope to provide an inviting atmosphere for locals to unwind and savour a remarkable selection of wines."
Bottles 'N' Jars - rhyming slang for cars - opened in November 2020 on the same site as luxury car dealership Hexagon Classics on Great North Road.
All the staff are either trained in wine or have hospitality experience, and can make personalized recommendations for customers - whether they are coming in for a case or a specific bottle. The wine range is sourced from top-tier small producers in the UK, Europe, and beyond under the direction of wine expert Bert Blaize, who hosts monthly tastings. They also have a Friday 'pit stop' when they open a bottle and invite customers to try it.
Mr Clarke added: "Opening a wine bar was always something we planned on doing. We will have been open three years in November and decided 'let's do it this summer, give it a try and see what happens.'
"Hopefully it will bring even more people to this wonderful little venue. We still get the odd person come in and say they didn't realise we were here, so we've invited all our customers and neighbours to come and get a taste of what we have on offer."
At 6pm on July 20 Bottles 'N' Jars is inviting loyal customers and Muswell Hill, Highgate and East Finchley locals to enoy a free glass of wine and a snack. To attend the launch email shop@bottlesnjars.co.uk or call 02037148380.
