A former bakery and coffee chain has now gone into adminstration with only site left in London.
Belgian coffee chain Le Pain Quotidien, which formerly had sites in Highgate High Street, South End Green and Marylebone, has shut nine UK sites with the loss of 250 jobs after falling into administration.
BrunchCo UK, the company trading as the high street chain, has confirmed it hired administrators from risk and financial advisors Kroll.
A former Pain Quotien in Highgate High Street last month reverted to its earlier use as a pub. The bakery replaced the Rose & Crown in 2012, but closed in 2021.
The Crown opened its doors in Highgate High Street on June 23.
Eight cafes in London and one in Oxford have shut as a result of the insolvency.
Only Le Pain Quotidien site at St Pancras railway station, run by sister company SPQ Holdings Limited, will continue to operate.
