A 15-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man have died after a “shocking” triple stabbing.
Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Elthorne Road, Archway, at around 11.30pm last night (Thursday, June 29).
Emergency services found a 15-year-old boy at the scene suffering from stab wounds.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after midnight.
A 23-year-old man was also found with stab injuries and was rushed to a west London hospital where he subsequently died.
Police said that they had informed both victims' next of kin and that formal identification would take place “in due course”.
A 28-year-old man was also found in the Archway area having suffered a stab injury.
He is at a north London hospital where his condition is not thought to be life-threatening.
Police said they believe a large number of people were present when the attack took place and have urged witnesses to come forward.
An order granting police additional stop and search powers in the area has been authorised.
A crime scene remains in place while officers investigate and there have so far been no arrests.
Chief Superintendent Andy Carter said: "My thoughts are with the families of the two victims who have suffered such an unimaginable loss in this shocking and unacceptable incident.
"We will support our colleagues as they investigate and members of the public will see an increased policing presence in the area.
"I urge anyone who has information that can help us establish exactly what has happened to approach those officers or contact us immediately.
“A man and a boy have lost their lives and we must now work together to identify those responsible and remove them from our streets."
