The weather smiled on the annual Fair in the Square on Saturday as Highgate's community fete basked in warm sunshine.

Thousands of visitors packed Pond Square and South Grove to enjoy scores of stalls, food and drink outlets, performances, and a dog show throughout the afternoon.

St Michael's Church in South Grove hosted teas, games, and performances, alongside tours of the tower and the chance to explore the crypt where the poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge is buried.

Local charity The Alexandra Wylie Tower Foundation, set up in memory of a Highgate pupil to provide services and activities for children living in poverty, ran an eye-catching hook a duck stall in their trademark pink.

The children's tent put on a programme of activities including drama, painting, storytelling and yoga.

Stilt walkers, jugglers and balloon modellers roamed the fair entertaining the crowds; there were uplifting performances by the Caribe Steel Band in Pond Square, and a circus extravaganza by Brainfools Theatre Company near the Flask Pub put on by Highgate arts centre Jacksons Lane.
