New data has revealed the exact location of all road fatalities in north London last year.
In total, 32 people were killed on roads in Barnet, Brent, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Harrow and Islington in 2022.
This number included a double fatality in North Circular Road A406 in Finchley, and the death of Maria Carolina Do Nascimento on Christmas Day in A41 Hendon Way.
Transport for London (TfL) has now said that more action is needed to prevent all deaths on London roads by the Mayor’s target of 2041.
According to TfL data, Barnet was the north London borough with the most fatalities on its roads in 2022, recording nine deaths.
In comparison, there was just one death on the roads in Hackney last year.
Data accurate as of the end of April this year shows that there have been seven fatalities on north London roads in 2023.

TfL’s walking and cycling commissioner Will Norman said: “This data shows that while significant progress is being made, further action is needed to eliminate deaths and serious injuries from London’s streets.
“That’s why we have accelerated our 20mph speed limit programme, are tightening the Direct Vision Safety standard for HGVs and working with the boroughs to deliver high-quality cycle routes.”
Despite the deaths across the capital last year, the number of people killed and seriously injured on London’s roads has fallen by 38% overall since 2005-2009.
