A popular Camden pub is on the market after its current owner announced her retirement.
The Elephants Head in Camden High Street, located close to Camden Town underground station, has a guide price of £600,000.
The drinks-only pub has been under the same ownership for the past 42 years, but Ann Monaghan, its current owner, has decided to retire “after many enjoyable years”.
The Elephants Head is believed to date back to 1832, and comes with a four-bedroom manager’s flat above the main space.
Andy Frisby, director of Fleurets, the property specialists in charge of the pub’s sale, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to take over the leasehold of an extremely busy pub in a great location.
“The Elephants Head does not currently have a food offer, which we believe provides a significant business opportunity to add to and enhance an already successful wet-led offer.”
Fleurets added that there was potential for a roof terrace at the rear of the pub, subject to obtaining the relevant permission.
For further information or to arrange a viewing of the pub on either April 5 or April 14 contact Fleurets on 020 7280 4700 or email london@fleurets.com.
