Images show the massive police cordon that was in place for two days after a man was found with unexplained and “possibly life-threatening injuries”.
Police tape was seen stretching across parts of North End Way near Hampstead Heath after a man in his 40s was taken to hospital on Tuesday (March 14) at 12.36am.
Multiple police vehicles were seen parked by Jack Straw’s Castle, and the cordon reportedly went as far out to near the pergola in the Heath.
The Metropolitan Police have described the man’s injuries as “possibly life-threatening” but are not able to specify the nature of the injuries or whether they are suspicious.
Two days after the incident, a spokesperson said there is no update on his condition or the investigation, and enquiries continue.
A spokesperson said officers are “keeping an open mind” but believe there is no evidence of this being a stabbing or shooting.
They added: “Enquiries into the full circumstances, including how the man sustained his injuries, continue.”
Officers were seen near to Jack Straw’s Castle throughout Tuesday and a cordon was still in place next to the Grade II-listed building on Wednesday.
