Parents are warned of possible disruptions to their children’s education this week as teachers are set to strike.
Camden Council says that each school will be impacted differently by the National Education Union (NEU) strikes that are scheduled for Wednesday (March 15) and Thursday (March 16).
Individual schools within the borough will let parents and carers know how the strikes will impact them and if the school will need to close on these planned strike days.
A general list of schools likely to be impacted has not been shared.
Camden schools will also be in touch with families regarding provision, such as packed lunches, for children who receive free school meals – and if any vulnerable children are able to attend school on the affected days.
Cllr Marcus Boyland, cabinet member for best start for children and families, said: “Alongside Camden Learning, we are working closely with our family of schools at this time.
“The nature of the strikes will affect each school differently, and schools will be in direct contact with families on whether they will close, partially close, or remain open.
“We also want to make sure that children who receive free school meals do not lose this support, and we will be working with school staff and our catering contractor to ensure this provision can remain in place.”
