Pupils dressed up as their favourite literary characters this week.
World Book Day 2023 coincided with national school strikes on March 2 - so some stayed at home while wearing their costumes.
World Book Day promotes reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own.
Following a call out to parents it seems some children did dress up.
South Hampstead pupil Sophia Pollock, seven, dressed up as the Book Fairy.
Her costume was made using pages from an old dictionary.
Georgina, aged 6, from Rhodes Avenue School, in Muswell Hill, dressed as Miss Trunchbull from Roald Dahl's Matilda.
Sam Pollock, who attends UCS Pre Prep School in South Hampstead, transformed into The Christmasaurus, a book by Tom Fletcher.
Pupils at Blanche Nevile School for Deaf Children dressed up as their favourite characters.
Blanche Nevile School for Deaf Children, based in Muswell Hill, said on social media site Twitter: "Our Primary pupils finished another busy week celebrating #WorldBookDay! A great day&lots of conversations about their favourite books & characters. Even the staff got involved!"
If you wish to send in pictures of your children in their costumes, email nathalie.raffray@newsquest.co.uk or whatsapp 07584147997 stating the child's name, age, school and who they are dressed up as!
