Unite union members demonstrated in Gospel Oak calling for the Murphy Group to reinstate four dismissed employees.
Unite members picketed outside of the Murphy's Yard construction office, in Highgate Road, on Wednesday (December 21) to campaign against the dismissal of workers.
Four Unite members who worked for Murphy International, the group’s Irish subsidiary, in Limerick have been dismissed and the union “believes they were unfairly singled out and victimised”.
Jason Poulter, national officer for Unite, said: “We want Murphy Group to contact and sit down with us and sort the situation out … and get these skilled workers back to work and deal with the situation.
“They’ve victimised a union representative and three union members and we want to sit down with them and deal with this properly."
A spokesperson for Murphy Group said: “We have no comment to make on this matter, which relates to previous employees who were involved in unofficial strike action in our Irish business, Murphy International Ltd.
"The matter is currently subject to legal proceedings in Ireland.”
