The start of the festive season will have to wait in Hampstead after the Christmas lights switch on was delayed by a week.
Hampstead High Street was set to be lit up on Thursday afternoon (November 30), but Cllr Stephen Stark (Con, Hampstead Town) said this was no longer possible due to a power supply issue.
Originally, the Christmas tree and lights were scheduled to be illuminated at 2.45pm, while the choir from New End School, Hampstead sang modern carols outside Barclays Bank.
The switch-on will now take place on December 7.
