Clapton manager Mustafa Bashkal is eyeing a top-six finish in the Essex Senior League this season.
The Tons enjoyed a successful run during the Len Cordell Memorial Cup, which was held to get teams back into action, after the Covid pandemic lockdowns.
The boss is now expecting big things from his side, although he knows it will be tough as teams are throwing money at big name signings across the league.
“Our goal is to finish in the top six this season,” Bashkal said. “There is a few clubs that have some really good squads in the league and some clubs have made some really good signings but for a club that’s not throwing money around we will fight for it all.
“Our squad is young and hungry, we want to try make an impact on the league this year. There’s always four or five teams that are front runners, but we will find out who by 15 games into the season.”
