Ruth Mary Cass Died very peacefully at the Royal Free Hospital, with her family around her, on 26th October 2009, aged 94. Wife for 65 years to the late Geoffrey. Best mother in the world to Jeni, Sally, Lesley and Harriet. Dear mother-in-law to Stuart, Richard, David and Victor. Adored and adoring Granny to Nicholas, Matthew, Lucy, Molly, Rupert, Giles and the late Ben. A medical social worker and a lifelong supporter and quiet encourager of the advancement of women, Ruth was for decades an active member of the National Council of Women, the Wives Fellowship and the Josephine Butler Society.
