The owner of Bourne's fishmonger in Highgate and Belsize Park is selling two of his three stores to focus on his delicatessen business.

John Long is selling Bourne's in Swains Lane and Belsize Lane, but keeping his shop in Highbury Barn.

John and Lucy Long are focussing on their two Superette stores, a cafe and delicatessan in Swain's Lane and in Upper Street.

Bourne's will be taken over by fishmongers within the industry, but the new owners have not yet been named.

A spokesperson for Bourne's said: "After an exciting five years at Bournes HQ, John Long and his partner are parting ways to allow them to focus on their areas of expertise.

"John and Lucy Long are taking on the Superette stores, while Bournes will be downsized to their flagship store in Highbury Barn.

"The Swain's fishmongers will taken on by new owners in early January, building on the amazing community of customers that the fishmongers has created, evolving to its full potential.

"Superette will continue as it always has, with our vibrant and varied selection of hard to find, small batch and independently made products."
